LHC Masterclass at LBNL

Dear Students and Teachers,

With concern for the health of all involved and to do all we can to prevent the spread of the coronavirus, we have decided it is best to cancel both of these events - the ATLAS Masterclass scheduled for Saturday, April 4, and the ALICE Masterclass scheduled for Saturday, April 25. We hope to reschedule these Masterclasses once the situation improves. We'll be sure to advertise the new dates to anyone who has already signed up. Stay tuned and check back for an update!

The Organizers

LHC Masterclass is a free one-day program for high-school students to spend a day at Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory with particle physicists from the ATLAS and ALICE experiments at the Large Hadron Collider.

The one-day program will include:

  • Introductory lessons by LBNL physicists

  • Tour of local laboratory facilities

  • Hands-on computational analysis of real data from the LHC

  • Videoconference with remote institutions (CERN, Fermilab, ...)

  • Lunch will be provided.

The program is aimed at 11th-12th grade students, but we highly encourage all interested students to apply!

If you are a teacher and would like to be involved, register using the Teacher Registration Form!
