LBNL Tour
Tour at Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory
On the third day of the symposium, a tour is being planned to allow a limited number of guests to visit LBNL. Research areas being considered are the Advanced Light Source (ALS) lab and possibly the National Energy Research Scientific Computing Center (NERSC).
Guests visiting LBNL will need to clear On Site Security.
Non-business guests can only be hosted when the CDC COVID-19 Community Levels are LOW (green). In the event COVID levels increase, for the safety of the group, the tour will be cancelled.
COVID-19 Protocols for Visitors and Hosts
Foreign Nationals visiting LBNL
All guests of LBNL, who are not U.S. citizens, must provide documentation of their immigrant or non-immigrant status to verify identity, i.e., visa, passport, or green card.
IMPORTANT: When entering the country, please ensure that you are issued a WB entry stamp as a Temporary Business Visitor. A tour at Lawrence Berkeley National Lab (LBNL) is being planned, and entry stamps with the denomination “WT” (Tourist visa) are not acceptable documentation for you to visit LBNL, although you could still attend the symposium since it is being held offsite at a local hotel, The DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel Berkeley Marina.
For purposes of the tour, there are four countries that will not be cleared by on site security: Cuba, Democratic People’s Republic of Korea (North Korea), Iran, and Syria.
