BLSA'S NUANCED VISIONS FILM FESTIVAL: What is it about?

Black Law Students Association (BLSA) will hold a truly immersive film festival experience this fall. We picked documentaries because they are a thought provoking medium that encourages reflection and allows for audience engagement in a film narrative versus the tradition panel. We believe documentaries provide a critical platform where theory and real life experience interact. To that end we want our festival to create a space to have important dialogue within our UCI community. Additionally, we want to bring a documentary festival experience to campus that many would not otherwise get.

Event Details:

The 19th kicks off the festival with the opening film screening co-sponsored by the Center for Biotechnology and Global Health Policy.

The 20th will feature 9 film screenings and a mural contest hosted by the UCI Cross-Cultural Center. The films will be shown in two parallel blocks; one block will feature 4 of the films and the other block will feature 5 of the films. But what if you want to see 2 films featured at the same time? Fear not, we got you covered! We are screening 8 films again on the 21st!
