• Correct & Reteach: Explicitly correct student and explain real world consequences for actions. Explain to students how actions affect those around them (i.e. friends, family, etc.)

• Restorative Tasks: 1-on-1 mediation between peers. Have student who stole complete a reflection sheet

• Replacement Behavior: Tell student to ask to borrow item(s) versus taking it without permission. 

• Consequences

1st offense: Verbal correction and student must return/replace item  

2nd offense: Verbal correction and loss of unstructured/free play and student to return/replace item

3rd offense: Verbal correction, student return/replace item, contact parent  

• Follow up (if needed)

4th offense: Meeting with parent, student, teacher and principal about continuous theft

• Correct & Reteach: Expicity correct student and explain real world consequences for actions. Explain to students how actions affect those around them (i.e. peers)

• Restorative Tasks: Community service: have student participate in service or project that will benefit school community

• Replacement Behavior: Recommend to student: the action of asking to borrow item(s) in the future versus taking it without permission.

• Consequences

1st offense: Verbal correction, return/replace item          

2nd offense: Verbal correction, return/replace item, loss of recess 

3rd offense: Verbal correction, return/replace item, office referral     

• Follow up (if needed)

4th offense: Parent, student,  and principal meeting in regards to behavior and changes

• Correct & Reteach: Explicitly correct student and explain real world consequences for actions. Explain to students how actions affect those around them (i.e. peers) 

• Restorative Tasks: Student will assist with lunch, lunch duties, or cleaning cafeteria after recess/lunch 

• Replacement Behavior: Recommend to student: the action of asking to borrow item(s) in the future versus taking it without permission. Remind student that additional snacks can be found on the share table

• Consequences

1st offense: Verbal correction and reflection sheet  

2nd offense: Verbal correction and monitor as student gets lunch

3rd offense: Verbal correction, student will get lunch last for specified period of time   

• Follow up (if needed)

4th offense: Student, parent, principal, meeting regarding actions
