Lawrence & Mercer Alliance for Aquatic Resource Monitoring
A Citizen Science Initiative from Westminster College
WELCOME
We are dedicated to engaging in local water quality and air quality monitoring, educating the community about environmental issues, and empowering volunteers with the tools needed to assess the health of our natural resources.
WHAT WE DO
Lawrence and Mercer ALLARM encourages and helps our community and students learn about water quality and provides the resources for water monitoring. Different measurements and criteria help determine if a body of water is healthy or what is causing the problem. Lawrence and Mercer ALLARM using the measurements of the body of water that the community takes to provide a comprehensive report to the community. We encourage community members to fill out our water monitoring forms and submit them on the website to learn about the health of local streams. The data collected by all of the community members and students are available to the public on this site, separated by stream.
HOW TO GET INVOLVED
We are always looking for volunteers or other organizations to partner with. We hold weekly meetings during the semester in Hoyt. The best way to learn how to get involved would be to email us at allarmstudent@lawmerallarm.org or check out our calendar for meetings/events.
