The Great California Shake Out was a success!
The Great California Shake Out was only a drill, but we took it seriously and paid attention. Some students pretended to be hurt. We waited for our teachers to rescue these students and check the buildings to practice for the real event. In our class lines, we played games and waited while the aids and some of the teachers did their jobs. In a real emergency, we now know what to do and to stay very calm.
Here are some things you should do and need to remember.
You should go down under the table and hold a table leg with one hand and cover your head with the other like this, shown on this picture.
Then you go outside and wait until everyone is safe. For the drill, we went back to our class after about an hour, but if it is a real earthquake, we will be picked up by our parents.
It was a good practice shake out and everyone did a good job!
