STORY TIME

Ben: My name is Ben and I'm home alone. Mom went to the store and hasn’t come back to the house. Mom always says that the door always has to be locked because I need to stay safe. I’m waiting for Mom to come back home so CJ and I could have a play date.

CJ: Hi, I’m CJ and I’m very bored. I have a play date planned with my friend Ben, but he hasn’t called me yet to tell me that I can come over. Although I’m bored, I am excited for the play date.

Ben: Mom finally came back and I can call CJ over! While Mom was out, I set up the console and pillows on the floor and I also got snacks. I told Mom I would call CJ over, and Mom said ok. I was ready for the play date!

CJ: I was so happy when Ben said I could finally come. I grabbed my mini backpack and hopped in the car. My mom drove me over there, and I said bye to her. When my mom drove away, I knocked on Ben’s door and Ben opened the door. I excitedly said hi, and I walked in.

Ben: After CJ walked in, I got so excited that I started running upstairs and I teased her, saying that she couldn’t catch me. I started running so fast that I hit my thumb on a corner! It hurt so badly that I fell to the floor and CJ caught me. Although it was fun, the thumb part was not. I told CJ that we could play video games and I told her she could choose. Roblox is what she chose, and I said ok. It’s fun, but we have to play by turns because we were playing on a single device. We were playing Doors on Roblox.

CJ: We had fun playing Doors, but we eventually had to quit, because I kept dying by Rush. When we quit, I realized that I had my phone in my backpack the whole time! I whipped it out, and I asked Ben if we could play Adopt Me on Roblox. He said yes, and joined me. We played for a while, running around and doing tasks for our pets, teasing each other.

Ben: It was fun, but my hands started to hurt, so I asked CJ if we could take a break. She said yes. So, we went outside to play with the dog. Soon after, we got bored again so I asked CJ what could we do? She said she didn’t know and I said neither do I. After a while of thinking, I said let's go eat spaghetti and meatballs, and CJ said yes.

CJ: The spaghetti was SO good! I was amazed with how good it tasted. After our food, I gulped down water because I was very thirsty. I thanked Ben’s mom for the food and raced upstairs. I teased Ben saying he couldn’t tag me. We raced around upstairs, and he fell. Then I went to ask him if he was ok and he said yes.

Ben: I said yes, thank you. I’m ok, CJ. I just need to get a band-aid because my skin peeled off when it got rubbed on the floor. We went to my room and I got a band-aid. After that, I chose the game and told CJ to take out her phone so she could join me. She said ok, and we started playing Invade on Roblox.

CJ: I had fun playing Invade, but it was a little confusing because I was new to the game. We played for about forty minutes, and then we stopped. It was getting a little late.

Ben: I looked at the time and it was 11:12 PM. I told CJ that she should call her mom because it was getting late. So, she did. After about 20 minutes, her mom came and I said goodbye. I told CJ she should come over again soon and she agreed.

CJ: I said goodbye to Ben, and I hopped in the car. Our moms talked about stuff for a while, and then my mom got in the car. I waved bye to Ben as we drove away. I had an amazing time and it was a good memory.

Ben: It was dramatic. It felt like one of those sad movie parts where people have to leave. After that, I got tired and went to bed, but it was hard trying to sleep because I couldn’t wait until CJ came back so we could play again.
