Baseball
Do you have a favorite sport? I don’t know about you, but my favorite sport is baseball. I like to watch it, but I mostly like to play baseball. Do you like baseball? Did you know that Abner Doubleday invented baseball? Abner Doubleday was a U.S. military general. He fought in many wars for the United States of America.
Are you familiar with baseball cards? Peck & Snyder invented baseball cards in the 1860s and they were a company from New York. In the 1880’s, baseball cards were sold in packs of cigarettes. Kids also traded them for fun. The first team to play baseball was the Cincinnati Red Stockings. They started playing in 1869.
Today, there are 30 Major League Baseball teams. There are 2 leagues. One is the National League and the other one is the American League. The Dodgers and the Angels are teams in Los Angeles. Going to a baseball game is really fun. You can watch the game and eat delicious food like hotdogs.
