AT LIBRA

Who are we?

Resource Specialist Program

At LIBRA Academy, our Special Education full-inclusion program is put into action through the collaboration of our co-teaching teams. LIBRA's resource specialist teachers collaborate, co-plan, and co-teach with general education teachers to plan differentiated instruction that appeals to diverse learners. Through the use of various types of co-teaching models, accommodations, differentiated lessons, and student-centered practices an inclusive classroom is created and celebrated. Our students are empowered to become critical thinkers and problem solvers as they access the general education curriculum alongside their classmates. Each grade level has their own RSP teacher in which each student is supported by the same RSP teacher their 4 years at LIBRA; with this, students are receiving instruction that is compliant and centered around them.

Alternate Curriculum IDM Program

At LIBRA Academy, our Special Education Alternate Curriculum (IDM) is put into action by our Moderate to Severe Special Education teacher. Through differentiated instruction and the UNIQUE Learning System curriculum, all students in the Alternate Curriculum IDM Program have the opportunities to engage with and participate in their learning environment and school-wide activities. Additionally, students are mainstreamed into Art and Enrichment classes that help them engage with their general education peers and teachers.
