Credit Recover Programs

PASS Credit Recovery

Provides a unique opportunity to recover failed courses by focusing on course content not yet mastered.  Each course is structured into modules based on clusters of standards.  Once students demonstrate proficiency in a module, they move on to the next module.  A minimum of 30 hours of in-seat time is required.  Students who finish before the 30 hours may use the extra time for enrichment or to serve as peer mentors.  The program must be run outside of school hours.

Local Design

Provides students an opportunity to recovery credits using Local Design or unique credit recovery programs that are school created.  They include programs specifically designed by high school sites to meet the needs of their students.  A minimum of 30 hours of in-seat time is required.  Programs must be run outside of school hours.  All Local Design programs must be approved by the school's Instructional Director, Local Superintendent, and Division of Instruction (DOI).  This program must be run outside of school hours.

Recovery + Intervention = Graduation (RIG)

Students can recover credit for failed courses by taking classes at an options school site or comprehensive high school during winter/spring break.  It provides flexibility for student participation to complete A-G course credit.  A minimum of 30 hours of in-seat time is required.  PASS or PASS modified programs are highly recommended for RIG Winter/Spring Break programs.

Edgenuity

Online classroom that offers Virtual and Blended learning courses.  

Blended Learning Courses:  Instruction is delivered by a credentialed (subject specific) instructor where some or all of the content is provided by the online vendor.  

Virtual Learning Courses:  Course offered online with an online instructor provided by the vendor; the school must identify a credentialed teacher, in any subject area, to serve as a mentor.

Grade Improvment Programs

Students Taking Action for Readiness (STAR)

Course extension program that provides the opportunity for students who received a "D" in an A-G course and want to get back on-track for college by achieving a "C" or better.  The course extension program provides 20 hours of extended instructional time for students to demonstrate proficiency of the course content and earn a higher course mark.  Students participating must be recommended by the teacher of record and complete the course requirements before the end of the following semester.

Grade Improvement Programs

Grade Improvement Programs are designed to allow students additional time to complete or make up assignments for classes/subjects they are currently taking; designed for students who are struggling in their current classes and need extra help/support in completing assignments or understanding of concepts.  Students participating in Grade Improvement Programs will be recommended by their current teacher of record for any given class/subject.  For support or information, please contact J.
