Become a Parent Volunteer

The staff at the Downtown Community of Schools invites our parents and community members to become volunteers at our center or at their child's school. The children of parents who volunteer at their schools, often do better both academically and socially. How do I know if my child is enrolled for the next school year?

Families will receive a letter in the mail with details about how students will log into their classes on the first day of school. Additional information will be available on school's individual websites.

To ensure that you receive all school communications in a timely manner, please make sure that your contact information is correct and up to date by visiting the Parent Portal.

Why do I need a Parent Portal account?

The LAUSD Parent Portal is your one stop online tool for important information about your child. Through the Parent Portal you are able to view your child's assignments and grades, attendance, test scores, and much more. It is also important to have access to Parent Portal so that you can ensure that the school has your correct contact information. If you need to update your phone number, you can do so through the Parent Portal.
