Children's Health Access and Medi-Cal Programs (CHAMP)
CHAMP is a LAUSD Wellness Programs Department designed to support student academic achievement and promote the well-being of children, families and community members through the enrollment of health insurance programs such as:
Medi-Cal, Covered California and the Kaiser Permanente Child Health Program.
CHAMP team members are Certified Enrollment Counselors who assist all families with applying for health insurance coverage. All CHAMP team members are bilingual in English and Spanish.

Free service that connects Californians with brand-name health insurance under the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act. When you apply, you may qualify for a discount on a health plan through Covered California, or get health insurance through the state’s Medi-Cal program.
No-cost health care program for people who live in Los Angeles County. MHLA is free to individuals and families who do not have and cannot get health insurance, such as Full-Scope Medi-Cal.
Helps pay for health coverage for children 18 and under who don't have access to other health coverage. Child Health Program members receive a subsidy to help pay monthly premiums, and do not have to pay copays or out-of-pocket costs for most care at Kaiser Permanente facilities.
California's Medicaid program. This is a public health insurance program that provides free or low cost medical services for children and adults with limited income and resources.
