Benjamin Franklin was one of the most influential figures in American history. He was born on January 17, 1706 in Boston, Massachusetts, and he grew up in a large family with 17 siblings. Despite having only two years of formal education, Franklin was a self-educated man who became a successful printer and publisher at a young age.
Throughout his life, Franklin was known for his wit, wisdom, and his many accomplishments in science, politics, and business. He died on April 17, 1790 at the age of 84.
