Substance Abuse Prevention
Yolanda Mendoza, Coordinator
Welcome!
Esteemed parents and guardians,
Kind and warm greetings to you as we embark on the 2023-2024 academic year. I feel honored and excited to undertake this journey along side with you at Jose A. Valdez High School. It is with great pleasure to service you all and wish you a year of joy, accomplishments achieved, learning, growth, and collaboration. As one of the proud Substance Abuse Coordinators, I am enthusiastic about the opportunity to collaborate alongside you in fostering a healthy lifestyle free from Tobacco, Alcohol and Other Drugs. We are dedicated to providing a safe, nurturing, and inclusive environment where every student can thrive academically, emotionally, and socially. With a team of dedicated educators, staff members, and a supportive community, we are well-equipped to create a conducive learning atmosphere that prevents substance use, promotes on-time graduation, decrease drop-out rate, and lead students to a Career, College, or Military pathway. Please feel free to reach me via phone, e-mail or in person. Let us work hand in hand to create a year filled with accomplishments, growth, healthy behaviors/coping mechanisms, learning and cherished memories.
Wishing you all a wonderful and successful academic year ahead!
Warmest regards,
Yolanda Mendoza, LCDC.
