Estimados Alumnos,
Here you will find the link for our Duolingo practice opportunity over the summer. Throughout the summer before 8th grade, if you complete the Duolingo assignments on the following link, it will help you stay prepared before starting 8th-grade Spanish!

Doing Duolingo on your own and using this link is an amazing way to practice Spanish as well. I encourage you to also continue practicing Spanish by listening to Spanish music, watching movies in Spanish, and more!
MUSIC:
I have compiled *some* music HERE (CLICK LINK) --
TV STREAMING:
"GO! Vive tu manera" - a Netflix series, originally in Spanish, based in Argentina.
There are plenty of other shows like "La Rosa de Guadalupe", "Nailed it! Mexico", "Gran Hotel", etc. I have heard of, but not personally watched "Casa de Papel", "Casa de Las Flores", "Las Chicas del Cable", "Velvet", "Alta Mar", "La Niña", "El Ministerio del Tiempo", "El Barco" and "El Tiempo Entre Costuras". Again, because I've never watched these, I leave them up to your discretion! . Anything that is a Netflix original, you can change the audio-language to Spanish and have English subtitles. Recently I also had a student ask about watching Anime, and you can also find those resources here: https://www.fluentu.com/blog/spanish/spanish-anime/
MOVIES:
Some movies are "Caídos del mapa", "Casi Casi", "Coco", "Canela", "Atlético San Pancho", "Selena", "NO", "También la Lluvia", ‘Encanto” "La Misma Luna", "Diarios de Mótocicleta","La Lengua de las Mariposas.", "Kamchatka" "Innocent voices", "La historia oficial", "Machuca", "Il Postino", and more. Again, you can change the AUDIO to be Spanish and have English subtitles. This works for Spanish movies, and all movies that are Netflix originals. (Please double-check movie ratings before showing students/children.)
BOOKS:
Here is a website explaining some ways to find FREE SPANISH BOOKS if your student is interested. This, in some ways, can be too big of a jump for some students.
Nos vemos,
