This privacy policy applies to Tabizu (hereby referred to as "Application") for iOS and iPadOS, created by LARA (hereby referred to as "Service Provider"). The Application is free to download and includes one optional in-app purchase.
This service is intended for use "AS IS".
Single Purpose
The single purpose of the Application is to read the photos already stored on your device and draw a map of the places where those photos were taken, colored using the colors of the photos themselves. Every permission the Application requests, and every piece of information it processes, exists solely to deliver that purpose.
1. Information Collection
1.1 Information processed on your device only
When you grant access to your photo library, the Application reads the following from your photos. This information is processed entirely on your device and is never transmitted anywhere.
Capture date. The date and time recorded in each photo, used to group photos by year and to detect individual trips.
Capture location. The geographic coordinates already embedded in each photo by the camera that took it, used to determine which region of the map to paint. The Application does not request access to your device's location services and does not read your current or past position. It reads only the coordinates that are already stored inside your own photos.
Colors. Representative colors extracted from the thumbnail image of each photo, used to color the map.
Subject categories. The Application uses Apple's on-device image classification (the Vision framework) to recognize general categories such as people, plants, water, or food, so that you can filter the photos shown for a place. This classification runs entirely on your device and its results are never transmitted.
The Application does not modify, copy, export, or upload your photos. It does not download the full-resolution originals of photos stored in iCloud during analysis; it works only from the thumbnails already present on your device. The single exception is described in section 2.
1.2 Information stored locally on your device
The Application stores the following on your device only, in the Application's own container. It is not shared with the Service Provider or with any other application.
Your chosen map style and appearance (day, night, or automatic).
Whether the introductory guidance and the purchase offer have already been shown.
A local copy of your purchase entitlement, so that the correct content can be drawn immediately at launch before the purchase status is confirmed.
If you enable notifications (section 4), the most recent date on which a photo existed for each region, used to detect a region that is new for the current calendar year.
All of this is removed when you uninstall the Application.
1.3 Information transmitted off your device
The only category of information that leaves your device is the record of your in-app purchase.
When you make or restore the in-app purchase, the purchase is processed by Apple. The Application uses RevenueCat, Inc. to verify and manage that purchase. In this process the following may be transmitted to and stored by RevenueCat:
The App Store transaction receipt and purchase history for this Application, including the product purchased, the date of purchase, the price and currency, the country of the store, and whether the purchase is active or refunded.
A randomly generated anonymous identifier created by RevenueCat to associate purchases with an installation. The Service Provider does not set, and does not use, any identifier of its own. This identifier is not linked to your name, your email address, or any account.
Basic technical information about the request, such as the Application version, the operating system version, the device model, and the IP address from which the request was made.
This information contains nothing derived from your photos. RevenueCat receives no photos, no locations, no dates of capture, no colors, and no information about your map.
1.4 What the Application does not collect
The Application does not collect, and has no capability to collect:
Your photos or any image data.
The locations recorded in your photos, or any location data whatsoever.
Your device's precise or approximate current location. The Application never requests location permission.
Your name, email address, phone number, postal address, or date of birth.
Contacts, calendars, health data, financial information, or payment card details.
Browsing history, search history, or any activity outside the Application.
Advertising identifiers, fingerprinting signals, or any cross-application tracking data.
The Application contains no analytics tools, no advertising, no advertising software development kits, and no tracking of any kind. The Application's privacy manifest declares no tracking and no tracking domains.
2. Photo Library and iCloud
The Application requests permission to access your photo library. You may grant full access, grant access to selected photos only, or refuse access. If you grant access to selected photos only, the Application works with that selection alone. If you refuse, the Application cannot draw a map, but no other functionality is affected.
Photo library analysis is performed exclusively on thumbnails already stored on your device, with network retrieval explicitly disabled. Photos that exist only in iCloud and have no local thumbnail are simply skipped.
The single exception is the following. When you tap an individual photo to view it enlarged, and no sufficiently large version of that one photo exists on your device, the Application asks Apple's Photos framework to retrieve that one photo from your own iCloud Photos account. This is a transfer between Apple and your device, using your own iCloud account and Apple's own infrastructure. The photo is not sent to the Service Provider and is not sent to any third party. If retrieval fails, the Application simply continues to display the local version.
3. How The Application Uses Infomation
To draw the map of the places you have travelled, and to color it with the colors of your photos.
To group your photos by year and to detect distinct trips.
To display the photos taken in a place that you tap, and to let you filter them by color or by subject.
To export a picture or an animated image of your map when you choose to share one.
To determine whether the optional in-app purchase has been made, and to unlock the corresponding features.
To notify you, if you have enabled notifications, when a region is painted for the first time in the current calendar year.
4. Notifications
The Application can optionally send you a local notification when a region appears on your map for the first time in the current calendar year.
This feature is entirely local. The Application periodically checks, on your device and in the background, whether newly added photos fall in a region that has no photos yet for the current year. There is no push notification server, no remote notification token, and no transmission of any kind. The determination is made on your device, and the notification is created on your device.
Notifications are optional. You may decline the permission when it is offered, and you may turn notifications off at any time in the iOS Settings application.
5. Thrid-Party Services
The Application uses the following third-party services. Each has its own privacy policy governing its handling of data.
RevenueCat
Provider: RevenueCat, Inc. (United States)
Data received: App Store purchase receipt and purchase history for this Application, a randomly generated anonymous installation identifier, Application version, operating system version, device model, and IP address.
Purpose: To verify and manage the in-app purchase, and to determine whether the optional features should be unlocked.
Privacy policy: https://www.revenuecat.com/privacy/
Apple
Provider: Apple Inc.
Data received: The in-app purchase is processed by Apple through the App Store using your Apple Account. Apple handles all payment information. The Service Provider never receives, sees, or stores your payment card details, your Apple Account credentials, or your billing address. If you use iCloud Photos, Apple also handles the retrieval described in section 2.
Purpose: Distribution of the Application, processing of the in-app purchase, and iCloud Photos.
Privacy policy: https://www.apple.com/legal/privacy/
The Application uses no other third-party services. There is no analytics provider, no crash reporting service, no advertising network, no authentication provider, and no cloud database.
Disclosure required by law
The Service Provider may disclose information as required by law, such as to comply with a subpoena or similar legal process; when the Service Provider believes in good faith that disclosure is necessary to protect their rights, to protect your safety or the safety of others, to investigate fraud, or to respond to a government request; or to trusted service providers who work on the Service Provider's behalf, who do not have an independent use of the information disclosed to them, and who have agreed to adhere to the rules set forth in this privacy policy.
Because the Service Provider holds no photos, no locations, and no personal information about you, there is in practice nothing of that nature that could be disclosed.
6. Data storage and international transfers
On your device. Everything described in sections 1.1 and 1.2 is stored on your device only, in the Application's own container, protected by the operating system's standard file protection.
Purchase records. Purchase records are stored by Apple and by RevenueCat on their own infrastructure. RevenueCat stores data on servers located in the United States. Apple's storage locations are described in Apple's privacy policy.
International transfers. If you are located in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, or Switzerland, the purchase information described in section 1.3 is transferred to the United States. Where such a transfer requires additional safeguards, it is governed by the Standard Contractual Clauses adopted by the European Commission, as incorporated in RevenueCat's data processing addendum. No other information is transferred internationally, because no other information leaves your device.
Cookies. The Application is a native iOS application. It does not use cookies, web beacons, local shared objects, or any browser-based tracking mechanism.
7. Data retention and deletion
Information read from your photos, meaning dates, locations, colors, and subject categories, is held in memory while the Application is running and is not written to any persistent store of the Service Provider. It is regenerated from your photo library each time it is needed.
Locally stored preferences and flags, as described in section 1.2, remain on your device until you uninstall the Application, at which point iOS removes them permanently along with the Application's container.
Purchase records held by RevenueCat are retained for as long as the Service Provider maintains its RevenueCat account, in accordance with RevenueCat's retention practices, and for as long as required by tax and accounting law. Purchase records held by Apple are retained in accordance with Apple's policies.
To delete everything the Application holds about you, uninstall the Application. No further action is required, because nothing about you is held anywhere else by the Service Provider.
If you wish to request the deletion of the anonymous purchase record described in section 1.3, contact the Service Provider at contact@lara-t.com. Please note that, because the record is not linked to any account, name, or email address, the Service Provider may be unable to locate it without additional information from you, such as the App Store transaction identifier from your purchase receipt.
8. Your Rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the following rights under applicable data protection law, including the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), the UK GDPR, the California Consumer Privacy Act as amended by the California Privacy Rights Act (CCPA and CPRA), and Japan's Act on the Protection of Personal Information (APPI).
Right of access. You may request a copy of the personal information held about you.
Right to rectification. You may request that inaccurate or incomplete personal information be corrected.
Right to erasure. You may request the deletion of your personal information. In practice, uninstalling the Application deletes everything stored on your device.
Right to restrict processing. You may request that processing be restricted in certain circumstances.
Right to data portability. You may request a copy of your personal information in a structured, commonly used, machine-readable format.
Right to withdraw consent. Where processing relies on your consent, you may withdraw it at any time by revoking photo library access in the iOS Settings application, by turning off notifications, or by uninstalling the Application. Withdrawal does not affect the lawfulness of processing carried out before the withdrawal.
Right to object. You may object to the processing of your personal information for purposes other than providing the service.
Right to lodge a complaint. You may lodge a complaint with the data protection authority of your country of residence. In Japan this is the Personal Information Protection Commission (PPC). In the European Economic Area it is the supervisory authority of the relevant Member State.
Right to opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information (CCPA and CPRA). The Service Provider does not sell your personal information and does not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising. No opt-out is required, because these practices do not occur. The Service Provider will not discriminate against you for exercising any privacy right.
Please note the practical limits of these rights for this Application. Because there are no accounts and the Service Provider holds no identifiable information about you, the Service Provider is generally unable to identify you from any request and therefore cannot locate personal information to access, correct, or export. This is a consequence of the Application's design, not a refusal to comply. Where the Service Provider cannot identify you, it will say so and explain why, as permitted by Article 11 of the GDPR.
How to stop all processing. You may stop all processing at any time by revoking photo library access in the iOS Settings application, or by uninstalling the Application using the standard iOS uninstall process.
How to exercise your rights. Contact the Service Provider at contact@lara-t.com. The Service Provider will respond to verified requests within a reasonable time frame, ordinarily within 30 days. Additional information may be requested to verify your identity before a request is processed. There is no fee for exercising your rights unless a request is manifestly unfounded or excessive.
9. Children
The Service Provider does not use the Application to knowingly solicit data from or market to children under the age of 13. The Application does not address anyone under the age of 13. The Service Provider does not knowingly collect personally identifiable information from children under 13 years of age. In the case the Service Provider discovers that a child under 13 has provided personal information, the Service Provider will immediately delete this from their servers. If you are a parent or guardian and you are aware that your child has provided personal information, please contact the Service Provider at contact@lara-t.com so that the necessary actions can be taken.
10. Security
The Service Provider is concerned about safeguarding the confidentiality of your information.
The strongest safeguard in this Application is structural. Information derived from your photos never leaves your device, so there is no server holding it that could be breached, and no transmission that could be intercepted. Information stored on your device is protected by the operating system's standard application sandboxing and file protection. Communication with the purchase services described in section 5 is encrypted in transit using TLS.
No method of electronic storage or transmission is completely secure, and absolute security cannot be guaranteed.
11. Changes
This Privacy Policy may be updated from time to time for any reason. The Service Provider will notify you of any changes to the Privacy Policy by updating this page with the new Privacy Policy. You are advised to consult this Privacy Policy regularly for any changes, as continued use is deemed approval of all changes.
This privacy policy is effective as of 2026-08-21.
Last updated: 2026-08-21.
12. Your Consent
By using the Application, you are consenting to the processing of your information as set forth in this Privacy Policy now and as amended by the Service Provider.
13. Contact Us
If you have any questions regarding privacy while using the Application, or have questions about the practices, please contact the Service Provider via email at contact@lara-t.com.
