Can I get a receipt for tax purposes?
Yes, patrons can request a donation receipt at the Circulation Desk.
Do you accept large donations?
We may accept very large donations (more than several bags/boxes), though this will depend on a number of circumstances such as how many donations we've already received that month. When in doubt, check with the Friends first.
What do you do with the donations?
Donations may be added to the library collection, depending on condition and need. Others may be sold at the monthly book sale or used as giveaways.
When is the book sale?
The book sale is on the last Saturday of every month, 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Members of the Friends of the Studio City Library gain early access at 8:30 a.m.; new members can sign up at the door. All others gain admission at 9:30 a.m.
Can I donate books for jails?
This is a program through the LA County Library, not LAPL. The closest county branch is West Hollywood.
