Over 2,000 years ago, one man conquered sin, not just for one or two nations, but for the entire world. This man brought us the freedom of salvation, and we should be eternally thankful for that gift. However, while we honor our spiritual deliverance, we must also recognize and support the warriors in this world who have fought for our physical freedoms. My wife and I do what we can to help, because supporting those who have sacrificed is not just a duty but a privilege.
Today, I want to focus on the power and promises found in the Word of God. This is the only promise we can truly count on, and it is available to everyone. The Word of God can transform lives regardless of who you are or where you come from. Jesus paid the ultimate price for all, and through His Word, we can become what God intended us to be.
Matthew 6:31-34 reminds us not to worry about our basic needs because God has already provided for them. Instead, we are to seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and everything else will be added to us. This teaching is crucial, especially in a world where we often prioritize material things over spiritual growth.
Jeremiah 29:11 emphasizes that God knows the plans He has for us—plans to prosper us and not to harm us, plans to give us hope and a future. This promise reassures us that our obedience to God will lead us to His blessings.
In John 16:35, Jesus tells us that we will have tribulations in this world, but we should be of good cheer because He has overcome the world. This passage encourages us to trust in God's strength and not be hindered by our past, problems, or circumstances. The only person who can stop us from fulfilling God's plan is ourselves.
Many people, including Christians, struggle to move forward in their spiritual journey. Some prefer to dwell in self-pity or make excuses instead of embracing the responsibilities that come with being a child of God. We must accept responsibility for our actions and commit to God's plan for our lives.
Commitment is essential because there will always be opportunities to quit. But we must remember that quitting is not an option for those who are truly committed to God's work. Discipline is also crucial; it helps us say yes to God's best and no to distractions.
Sacrifice is another key element. No great accomplishment comes without sacrifice. Jesus taught that to find our life, we must be willing to lose it. We must put aside our desires and prioritize God's will.
Accountability is important as well. We must be accountable to someone or something to move to a higher level in our spiritual journey. The more we are given, the more is required of us. This accountability helps us grow and fulfill our responsibilities.
Life is full of risks, but the greatest hazard is to risk nothing at all. A person who risks nothing has nothing. We must be willing to step out in faith, trusting that God will guide and support us.
Philippians 4:6-7 encourages us not to worry but to pray and give thanks, making our requests known to God. The peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard our hearts and minds through Christ Jesus. We can do all things through Christ who strengthens us, and God will supply all our needs according to His riches in glory.
Finally, Psalm 34:15-19 reassures us that the eyes of the Lord are on the righteous and His ears are open to their cry. Though we face many afflictions, the Lord delivers us from them all.
Let us hold on to these promises and trust in God's plan for our lives. Embrace responsibility, commitment, discipline, sacrifice, accountability, and be willing to take risks. With God, all things are possible.
