I’m really looking forward to working together for a great school year! This page has some general information for all classes that I teach. Students are responsible for checking Google Classroom and their agenda daily for all class assignments, materials, and updates—and for keeping their families informed. At Langston, we’re helping students grow into independent, responsible learners, and we truly value your support at home.

Absent/Late Work Policy

Students are responsible to complete any work that was missed due to an absence. A zero will be entered in the gradebook for any assignment due the date of an absence as a reminder to the student to make up the assignment. Assignments will always be posted on Google Classroom. Students have five school days to complete work missed during an absence. For classwork/homework, students must show me their completed assignment upon returning to school. Tests and quizzes must be made up on Fridays in the assigned front office location. It is the student’s responsibility to arrive for makeup testing at either 7:45am or 1:30pm the Friday after a missed test or quiz. 25% will be deducted for every Friday that passes without the assessment being completed. Unless an Oops Pass is used, homework will not be accepted late for credit.

Plagiarism and AI policy

Students may complete homework with the help of a friend or parent, but all work must be written by the student. Students are expected to submit original work that reflects their own thinking, effort, and understanding. AI tools may be used to support learning, but they must not be used to generate, complete, or submit assignments. Submitting AI-generated content in place of the student’s original work is a violation of academic integrity and will be addressed accordingly.
