Mrs Fidock's Final Principal Message

My final message isn't going to be one full of sadness, despite me (no doubt) spending most of today with tissues and dark glasses! Langley Park will continue to be the most extraordinary place to work and learn and I am proud to have been just the start of this journey. The future of any school is built on strong foundations - and this is what we, as a whole community, have ensured. When we arrived in September 2016, we were little more than a shell of a building, a handful of staff, small classes and very little else...in just 5 years we have given this school a (short) history, traditions and most importantly a lasting ethos of 'excellence through learning, learning through excellence' which continues to shine through. What I hope I leave is the value of giving everything a go, no matter what's come before, never giving up - even when things are difficult; summed up with one of my favourite quotes, by poet Erin Hanson.:

'There is freedom waiting for you, On the breezes of the sky, And you ask "What if I fall?"

Oh but my darling, What if you fly?”

So thank you. I will be forever honoured to have been given this opportunity - one that I will never forget and will always treasure. Langley Park has been my world for the last 5 years, now it's my turn to be brave and take on a new challenge.

Leaving Gift

I wanted to buy something to say goodbye and so I have bought the school a leaving gift to go in our new Memory Garden - one symbolising hope, light and inclusiveness and I felt this was appropriate. I will deliver this after half-term and Mr Smith will help me get this in place.

Mrs F x

Willow's Corner

This week I have been playing lots with Mrs Fidock! Here I am being a good girl in her office waiting for Mrs Fidock to give me a treat! I have been helping everyone to feel very calm and relaxed during this busy week as we enter a time of new change and growth here at Langley Park. I will miss Mrs Fidock lots- I know we all will! She believes in the power of The Dog Mentor Programme and I feel very honoured to have worked with her. But, I know she will be back for lots of cuddles and tummy rubs- oh and of course I hope she brings me some tasty treats too!

Now it is time to get ready for a relaxing half term. Keep checking on my Google Classroom as I know Mrs Dunn will keep you all updated with what I get up to!
