Principal's Message:

It's been another wonderful week at LPPA.

On Monday we welcomed Kent Fire and Rescue Service to the academy. They led a number of workshops throughout the morning about staying safe around fire.

On Tuesday, a group of children attended the LAT Swimming Gala and represented our academy in a number races. A huge well done to Anna who came third in the backstroke race.

On Wednesday, our Year 3 visited Kent Life for a workshop all about the Stone Age to accompany their inquiry learning. They represented our academy well and engaged with the workshops positively.

Today we had a visit from one of our brilliant governors who had the privilege of seeing OPAL in action. It is safe to say that she was blown away with how engaged the children were with the different opportunities available to them.

Of course, we also had the pleasure of welcoming our parents to the first Parents Evenings of the academic year. It was inspiring to see our community coming together to share and celebrate how hard our children are all working within their learning.

These types of weeks are my favourite, because it truly is what being a school community is all about.

Have a wonderful weekend!

Miss S Brading

Office Reminders:

Sickness Policy: Vomiting and Diarrhoea

A reminder to all parents and carers that children should not return to school for 48 hours following any episodes of vomiting and/or diarrhoea.  We appreciate that this can be inconvenient in some cases, in particular if your child has only one episode or sickness and/or diarrhoea and otherwise seems well following this, however we ask that this policy is applied at all times as it does reduce the risk of infection for all children in school.

Bottle Donations

Thank you to all those who today donated a bottle towards the tombola stall at our Christmas Fair, which takes place next week on Friday 1st December. The continued support of our parent/carer community is what enables these events to happen successfully for all pupils of Langley Park Primary Academy and we are looking forward to seeing as many of you as possible at the event next week.

Contacting the class teachers:

If you have concerns that you would like to raise with the academy, please do so via the office email address which is contactus@langleyparkprimaryacademy.org.uk. Upon receipt, your email will be directed to the relevant member(s) of staff.

We respectfully ask that you address any concerns or issues with your child's class teacher in the first instance. If it remains unresolved then your concern will then be escalated to Mrs Neame, Vice Principal. In the unlikely event that it continues to remain unresolved, it will be escalated to Miss Brading at that point.

We are also aware that some parents continue to email staff directly. In the event that this happens, staff have been asked to forward your email to the aforementioned email address to resume communication via the correct channels.

National Online Safety Guide

Gone are the days of Black Friday existing only on the physical high street. Now both Black Friday, and its sister event Cyber Monday, see deals and discounts displayed across almost every online retailer. The range of reductions makes this an ideal moment to treat a loved one (or yourself!) to those treasured items for considerably less than their usual cost.

The frantic dash for the best bargains online, however, also harbour several risks, in particular cybercriminals who will be hoping to exploit people's excitement and hoodwink them out of their hard-earned cash. The below guide has some expert pointers on keeping both your money and your personal information safe whilst still making the most of any spectacular sales.

A reminder that all of our parent/carer community are invited to create an account with National Online Safety, which provides a wide range of resources such as the guides we include in our newsletters, courses and video resources.
