Principal's Message:

Thank you to all of the parents who attended our Parents' Evenings on Tuesday and Wednesday this week. It was wonderful to see our community celebrating the progress and learning of our children and it is such a valuable chance for parents to find out how well their children are doing and what they are learning about. I would also like to extend my thanks to the families who took the time to complete our parent surveys whilst visiting us. The responses were overwhelmingly positive and certainly provided a much needed boost to the team as they are working so hard for each and every pupil.

As you will know, our community is growing in the form of feathers and beaks! Our chicks have started to hatch! They are currently being looked after by our wonderful EYFS children and adults. We'll post regularly about them on our social media so keep an eye out to find out more about our new additions.

Have a lovely weekend everyone.

Miss Brading

National Online Safety Guide

According to Ofcom, 69% of under-18's use a smartphone as their main method of going online. Additionally, 49% of children use them for online gaming, putting smartphones only behind consoles (59%) as the device of choice for playing games online. Most people won't require such statistical evidence, however, to acknowledge the huge importance of phones to young people.

Smartphones are now owned by an increasing number of young people and so it is important to ensure that children are able to use their handsets responsibly and, above all, safely. From passcodes to parental controls, and from screen time to scams, the below guide covers a range of essential advice.

A reminder that all of our parent/carer community are invited to create an account with National Online Safety, which provides a wide range of resources such as the guides we include in our newsletters, courses and video resources. If you have not already done so, please create your account by visiting the link below.

Contacting the class teachers:

If you have concerns that you would like to raise with the academy, please do so via the office email address which is contactus@langleyparkprimaryacademy.org.uk. Upon receipt, your email will be directed to the relevant member(s) of staff.

We respectfully ask that you address any concerns or issues with your child's class teacher in the first instance. If it remains unresolved then your concern will then be escalated to Mrs Neame, Vice Principal. In the unlikely event that it continues to remain unresolved, it will be escalated to Miss Brading at that point.

We are also aware that some parents continue to email staff directly. In the event that this happens, staff have been asked to forward your email to the aforementioned email address to resume communication via the correct channels.
