Principal's Message

It's been a frosty week, this week so we've been having to wrap up very warm.

This week, 14 Year 5 pupils have been trained up as Play Leaders to support positive play during breaktimes. The process to become a play leader involved making an application to become one and then engaging with a detailed training session with trained members of staff; so the children have had to work really hard to get to this point. It, therefore, gives me great pleasure to share that the LPPA Play Leaders are Stiesh, Philip, Archie, Olly, Savanah, Rosie, Jessica, Toke, Dylan, Jessica, Eloise, Rosie, Kara and Marco. Well done for this achievement, I am sure that the younger pupils in the school will very much enjoy your support during their play.

As you are aware, we are currently in the consultation period for changing the times of the academy. Thank you to everyone who has responded and, if you haven't already, you can do so in person or via email by Friday 11th February. There have been some queries around breakfast and after school club so I wanted to reassure you that we will be making fair adjustments to those arrangements to accommodate the extra time that parents might need.

I am delighted to let you know that Mrs Reeves has had a beautiful baby boy called Louie. Both mum and baby are doing very well and we are so please that the Langley Park family is growing!

Miss Brading

Willow's Corner

Another exciting week of learning has passed at Langley Park Primary Academy. I am really enjoying the cold weather we have had this week, I get very excited in the mornings playing on our frost covered field! My paws are covered in frost when I head back inside to settle with my bone before the children arrive! I am getting ready to celebrate my 2nd birthday on 29th January, can you believe I am nearly two?

This week I have been enjoying story time sessions in Discovery. I like laying on the rug in the book corner watching all the children listen to Mrs Dunn. I also joined Discovery for their Forest School session and Mrs Dodson showed me how to collect sticks to make a bug hotel! I have also enjoyed joining Pazazz Class to read their chapter of their class book 'Kensuke's Kingdom.' Mr Fenton will be proud of my reading skills this week!

FRIENDS OF LANGLEY PARK UPDATE:

National Online Safety Guide

Email scams are when you receive an email from someone purporting to be a genuine person or company, but is actually an online fraudster trying to trick you into disclosing personal information. This is often referred to as ‘phishing’. Normally, people click on the links in an email assuming that they will be directed to a trustworthy website – but fake sites, closely resembling the real thing, are increasingly being set up by cyber criminals specifically to capture your personal information, which could, in turn, jeopardise your financial, emotional and possibly even physical wellbeing.

In the guide, you'll find tips on a number of potential risks such as viruses, financial damage and personal safety.
