What an incredible week it has been for our students! Hands-on learning outside the classroom is such an important part of our curriculum, and our recent trips gave everyone a chance to connect with the natural world in entirely different ways. From micro-habitats in Kent to the exotic wildlife of the savannah, our pupils represented the academy beautifully, showing immense curiosity and brilliant manners throughout. The first adventure took us to Tyland Barn, the lovely nature reserve run by the Kent Wildlife Trust. Armed with nets, magnifying glasses, and plenty of enthusiasm, the children became real-life ecologists for the day.
Next up was the highly anticipated expedition to Wingham Wildlife Park, and it certainly did not disappoint! The children were mesmerised by the sheer variety of creatures, from the majestic big cats to the playful penguins. Walking through the habitats, they learned about global conservation and the unique adaptations that help these animals survive in the wild. The absolute favorite moment for many was watching the meerkats scurry about and standing face-to-face with the towering giraffes. The staff at Wingham highly praised our pupils for their insightful questions and excellent behavior.
As the weather continues to warm up, we want to ensure all our children stay safe, comfortable, and ready to learn. Please ensure your child brings a named water bottle to school every single day so they can stay hydrated during lessons and break times. Additionally, please apply high-factor suncream to your child before they leave home in the morning and send them in with a sun hat. These simple steps make a massive difference in keeping everyone safe and happy during outdoor play and summer activities!

đ Safe - Keep safe by being careful not to give out personal information when youâre chatting or posting online. Personal information includes your email address, phone number and password.
đ€ Meet - Meeting someone you have only been in touch with online can be dangerous. Only do so with your parentsâ or carersâ permission and even then only when they can be present. Remember online friends are still strangers even if you have been talking to them for a long time.
đ„ Accepting - Accepting emails, messages, or opening files, images or texts from people you donât know or trust can lead to problems â they may contain viruses or nasty messages!
đ§ Reliable - Someone online might lie about who they are and information on the internet may not be true. Always check information.
đŁïž Tell - Tell a parent, carer or a trusted adult if someone, or something, makes you feel uncomfortable or worried, or if you or someone you know is being bullied online.
We respectfully ask that you address any concerns or issues with your child's class teacher in the first instance. If it remains unresolved then your concern will then be escalated to the Key Stage Lead and/or Mrs Neame, Vice Principal. In the unlikely event that it continues to remain unresolved, it will be escalated to Miss Brading at that point.
