Canvas is primarily designed to be used in a web browser. Chrome, Firefox, and Microsoft Edge are all supported browsers.
We encourage you to watch this quick 5 minute video to familiarize yourself with the Canvas browser interface and learn how to access all of your course materials.
Once logged in, it is also recommended to review your account's notification settings and configure notifications in a way which works best for you. These options can only be adjusted while logged into Canvas through a web browser.
First time logging in to Canvas? Here's how:
1. Click Login
Clicking the Login button on the school website will still take you to Canvas login page.
2. Click on Student & Faculty Login
Click on Student & Faculty Login button.
3. Enter your lcds username and password
You only need to use your username (lastnamefirstinitial), not your full email address.
Use your LCDS password—this is the same password you use to log into Google.
4. acceptable use policy
The first time logging in, you will likely be prompted to agree to the Canvas Acceptable Use Policy. Select the checkbox next to "I agree" and click Submit.
Success!
You should now see the Canvas Dashboard with all of your courses.
