Seek assistance or support when needed from your teachers or counselor.
Become involved in extra-curricular activities, clubs, etc. (See the counseling center for a list of clubs.)
Maintain a strong academic performance and an excellent attendance record.
Fall:
Start thinking about what careers interest you the most. (As if you haven't been thinking about it most of your life!)
Talk to your family and acquaintances about their chosen careers.
Winter:
Consider taking the most challenging courses offered at your school. No, we're not kidding. Not only are your grades important, so are the classes you take.
Spring:
Think about your extracurricular activities. Are you getting involved? If not, there is a spot somewhere for you. You can see the counseling center if you need help trying to find a spot to plug into. College admissions officers will factor in these activities when evaluating your application.
Summer:
It is time to talk finances. A college education is expensive (though worth every penny!) A summer job will give you extra cash for college and help you develop skills.
