Diversify Your Tea Palette

LAKEVILLE HIGH SCHOOL - LakeVille Memorial High School senior Brianna Anzures has founded a company that sells tea products with a meaningful twist. 

In society today, as we are becoming more open minded to diversity and taking a stand against discrimination, there are more and more opportunities to contribute to minority causes. Brianna and her company seek to do just that. “My inspiration for this company is that I’m Chicano. Being Mexican-American, I wanted to give back to my people and have the Chicano Movement known. I also want to spread awareness about other minorities and their movements. Everyone’s stories deserve to be heard and I’m happy to have the opportunity to help with this goal through Bree’s Teas.” 

Bree’s Teas provides historical information on the packaging of their tea products, including facts about the civil rights movement that Chicano people stood for. The teas contain hispanic herbs and spices so people all around the world can experience the different elements of flavors in a warm or cold beverage. They will be offered online, in selected stores, and even have a possible café in the future! Ten percent of the profits will be sent to selected charities of the customers’ choice. 

“Our goal is to spread more awareness about all minorities and their movements to others, and how our customers can support them as well,” Bree says. “For our customers that only understand Spanish, we will have our co-logo, “Tes De Bree”, so people that aren’t fluent in English can also enjoy this tasteful tea while understanding what our cause is for.”
