Lakeview Middle School is pleased to offer a variety of special classes to our students outside of their core curriculum.
Students attend Art, Gym, Choir, Band and STEM classes to enrich their learning and development.
I began teaching art at Lakeview in 1997. Before that, I taught art in Lisbon Local and Youngstown City Schools. I have earned all three of my degrees from YSU, an Associate’s Degree in Early Childcare (1983), a Bachelor of Fine Art with a second major in Education (1993), and a Master of Arts in Art Education (2010). While at Lakeview I have taught art at Cortland Elementary, Bazetta Elementary and the Middle School in grades first through eighth. In my spare time I enjoy making cards, reading and painting with watercolors. My husband, daughter and I enjoy doing yoga, bicycling and spending time with our two golden retrievers Brody and Daisy and our cat Oliver. I am honored to have the opportunity to teach your child about art. Visual Art teaches students how to creatively solve problems and practice higher order thinking skills. When students are the artists, they are in charge of the project and they make choices that will help them to reach their goals and convey the ideas they wish to express. This is an empowering opportunity for students that will enable them to become innovative, observant, reflective and confident. You are always welcome to contact me at any time.

I graduated from Westminster College in New Wilmington, PA with a Bachelor’s Degree in Music Education. I received my Masters of Music Education from VanderCook College of Music in Chicago. Prior to coming to Lakeview I worked in the Maplewood School district teaching K – 6 General Music and directing the High School Show Choir. I started my career at Lakeview Middle School in August of 1994. I also spent one year at Bazetta Elementary and 2 years assisting the high school choir director. I enjoy working with the middle school voices. I am always amazed at what our students can accomplish musically. My husband Jeff and I live in Boardman. We have 2 daughters who are in college. Many of your older children may know me as Miss Page. I look forward to working with all of your children.

I have been involved with Lakeview since I started school in kindergarten and graduated in 1977. After graduation I attended YSU where I received my BS in Education majoring in Physical Education and minoring in Health and Basic Business.
I subbed for four years at Lakeview until I was hired to teach Health in 1986. I taught health for two years and then moved to Bazetta and Cortland elementary where I taught PE. When that building closed, I came to the middle school to continue teaching PE.
I received my Masters from Ashland University in Curriculum and Instruction.
I am a proud member of Lakeview’s class of 2010. I am a graduate of Kent State University where I earned my Bachelor’s Degree in Middle Childhood Education graduating Summa Cum Laude. In the spring of 2017 I graduated with my Master’s Degree in Integrated Curriculum Mathematics and Sciences with a STEM focus. After teaching out of state and at Grand Valley Middle School in Orwell, Ohio, I am happy to be a bulldog once again! I am passionate about STEM education and connecting learning to real world phenomena and skills that will benefit our learners both in and out of the classroom. When I am not in the classroom you can find me on the soccer field either coaching or playing. In my additional free time I enjoy spending time outside and with my pets, family and friends, and traveling. I also enjoy reading and biking. I am excited to get to know and learn with your student(s) as we explore STEM challenges and the real world connections they offer. The best way to stay updated on our STEM journey is to join your students google classroom (these codes can be found on the class syllabus). Please feel free to contact me at anytime and I will do my best to respond promptly.
