Institutional Scholarships
Institutional scholarships are college-specific. Check the financial aid website of each school to see if there are scholarships that warrant an application.
Merit Scholarships
Merit scholarships are based on high school performance: grades, test scores, or a combination of both. Generally, if a school is test-optional and the student elects not to submit scores, the student will still be eligible for merit scholarships.
Athletic Scholarships
Athletic scholarships are based on athletic performance and may be discontinued if the student stops playing the sport once on campus. Division III schools cannot award athletic scholarships.
Local Scholarships
Additional scholarships are available through countless private foundations, businesses, organizations, clubs, religious groups, etc. A great starting point is to search for local scholarships in the city in which you reside. Begin with your local Chamber of Commerce, library, or businesses: You may be surprised by what is available!
