We are having a HOUSE SPIRIT DAY this Tuesday, May 7th. If you wear your SPIRIT SHIRT or a SHIRT that is your house color, you can wear a hat. This is for 5th and 6th graders only.

Middle School Softball will be holding an interest meeting for parents and upcoming 6-8th graders who would like to try out for the 2025 team! This will take place on Friday, May 11th in the LPS Library at 5:30.

Mark your calendars! Registration will begin soon for Lakeland's first ever Art Studio Sessions for high school students, including rising 9th graders. 

Studio Sessions are designed to expand student's artistic skills and increase mastery in an area of student interest. Each student will choose an area to work on for the week and the teacher will facilitate a project in that area. The cost for the sessions will be $150 per student for the week with materials included. Students can talk to Mrs. Thompson if they have any questions regarding Studio Sessions!

Rising 8th Graders and Parents

Don't forget to register and join us in Washington, D.C. next year! We had a blast last month touring the White House, Arlington, the National Archives, Mount Vernon, the Washington Monument, and many other museums and memorials on the National Mall. We also had the chance to meet both of our senators at the Capitol Building. Next year we hope to return to many of these great places and more! If you're interested in playing for the LPS HS soccer team please attend an interest meeting from 3:20-3:40pm on Wednesday May 1st. Meeting will be held in Room 308 (Coach Fausey's Room). Meeting is only for potential players.

Middle School Volleyball Skills Clinics will take place on May 6th and 7th. The Clinic is open to all upcoming 5th-8th grade girls of any skill level, and will be $25/child for both days. If you have an upcoming 7th/8th grade girl please sign up for the 3:30-5:30 session, and if you have an upcoming 5th/6th grade girl please sign up for the 5:30-7:30 session. To participate in the clinic you must fill out the permission slip and google form linked below.

Middle School Volleyball Tryouts will be on May 9th and 10th 4:00-6:00 for our JV/Varsity teams, and May 15th 5:30-6:30 for our Developmental teams. Please sign up using the link below.

MS TCAP Field Test

We want you to be aware that we have been selected to participate in the TCAP field test for grades 5 - 8.  This process is used by the state to ensure proposed sets are appropriate and statistically reliable.  Your student's grades/TCAP scores are not affected in any way.  If you have any questions, feel free to email Dr. Brown at dbrown@lakelandk12.org.

This club is open to 8th, 9th, and 10th graders! Students interested in attending should see Mr. Richins in room 117 prior to the first meeting.
