WUE PROGRAM FOR OUT-OF-STATE TUITION

• Participating states are: Alaska, Hawaii, Oregon, Arizona, Idaho, South Dakota, California, Montana, Utah, Colorado, Nevada, Washington, CNMI*, New Mexico, Wyoming, Guam, North Dakota

• If you are thinking about going out of state for college, or even if you weren’t, do you know about the WUE program? Through WUE, students in Western states may enroll in participating two-year and four-year public college programs at a reduced tuition level: up to 150 percent of the institution’s regular resident tuition. In all cases, WUE tuition is considerably less than nonresident tuition. 

• Some WUE scholarships are awarded automatically to all students. Some are dependent on GPA. Some can be competitive (they are not awarded to every student who applies) and are sometimes offered on a first come, first serve basis, so apply early! Check each college for specific WUE guidelines.

• Separate WUE scholarship applications typically need to be filled out on the college’s website.
