How Language Works

How Language Works! You CAN Learn It!

Throughout the year in Spanish, all students will engage in interactive activities and projects. Students learn best when they hear words that they know in real-life situations.

Through storytelling and classroom discussions we will learn language. Singing is a great way to practice pronunciation, especially in the elementary grades. The required vocabulary will be introduced with gestures and pictures to give students control to follow a natural progression of acquiring vocabulary.

Students will have opportunities to set their own proficiency goals, monitor their progress and assess their language performance over time. (see below)

Ask your students to retell class stories to hear how they are progressing.
