Work experience is taking place for Year 10 learners from Monday 23rd to Friday 27th February 2026. This is an exciting week where learners will have the opportunity to get a real insight into life after school and can really help them to decide which career they may want to pursue after leaving school.
All learners have the opportunity to arrange a placement for themselves. All placements have to be checked and agreed by both the school and Our Futures - an external company who help us to organise work experience.
For all placements the business must have Employers Liability Insurance in place. By law, we are not able to send any learners on work experience placements where this isn’t in place, even if this is with parents or family members.
If you have any questions, please email bfoster@ladybridgehigh.co.uk or workexperience@ladybridgehigh.co.uk
Parents/Carers will need to complete the online consent form. All parents have been emailed information and instructions on how to do this. If parents/carers require a paper copy, please email workexperience@ladybridgehigh.co.uk
Learners & Parents - Find a business that you are interested in going to for your placement. Call them or go and speak to them to see if they are willing to help you. The business will need to complete an online form. You will need to share the blue postcard with your employer that you have been given by your Learning for Life teacher so that they can confirm the placement. If you're not sure how to speak to an employer, use this guide to help. The deadline for placements to be confirmed is Friday 28th November 2025.
Learners & Parents - Login to Our Futures - https://www.ourfutures.co.uk/login/ to check whether your placement has passed health and safety/insurance checks. Login details will be sent to you.
Learners - Nearer to the time of the placement, you will need to contact your employer to check they are still okay to have you. You will also need to ask the following questions:
What time should I arrive?
Do I need any special equipment?
What should I wear?
Do I need to bring lunch?
What time will I finish?
Speak to your family - Are there any family friends/colleagues who could offer you a placement?
Speak to your Learning for Life teacher - You have lessons set aside during Learning for Life time to organise your placement and get support from your teacher.
Email workexperience@ladybridgehigh.co.uk, or see Mrs Foster if you have any questions.
