The TSR Program provides up to $100 reimbursement per month to eligible employees who use public transportation (e.g., buses, trains, and subways) to commute to work.
Transit Spending Account (TSA)
The TSA program allows employees to set aside up to $325 (calendar year 2025) per month on a pre-tax basis to pay for public transit (e.g., buses, trains, and subways) expenses, while also providing a Transit Match of up to $100 per month. Paying with pre-tax dollars reduces the net cost from your paycheck. Transit and parking passes/tickets can, in most cases, be purchased directly through the City’s third-party service provider, WageWorks.
The TSA program is a separate program from the Transit Subsidy Reimbursement Program. Employees may not participate in the Transit Subsidy Reimbursement and the TSA program at the same time.
COMMUTEwell provides a “$5 per day” bike/walk subsidy up to $100 per month to individuals who commute from home to work via bicycling or walking to City worksites and meet additional program requirements. Certain City facilities provide showers and lockers for those biking to work. To determine locker availability, call (213) 978-1593.
