What is this project ?

Andhra Pradesh state is home to rich biodiversity. The presence of the Eastern Ghats mountains supports high biodiversity that is yet to be documented in detail. Involving the local communities and embedding citizen science to record and monitor this biodiversity from the state yield large amounts of data.

Indian Institute of Science Education & Research (IISER) Tirupati, with support from IndiaBioscience is launching Young Naturalists of Andhra Pradesh project to actively engage and train children and youth of the landscape for collecting biodiversity data (plants, trees, birds, insects, mammals etc.)

How to participate ?

  • Register your interest (as an individual or institution) in this website

  • Participate in our online training and orientation sessions

  • Regularly explore biodiversity in your surroundings (school, college or neighborhood)

  • Using your mobile phone or a camera take pictures of your observations and submit to iNaturalist portal

  • Win monthly and annual prizes for your contributions
