January 2024 | Volume 2 | Issue 4

Does anyone make resolutions anymore? I saw on the news the other morning that the Doomsday Clock has been set to 90 seconds to midnight, meaning that - according to scientists who win Nobel prizes - we are pretty darn close to the apocalypse, or the end of life as we know it. The world is a scary place and the future is uncertain. Making a resolution to "lose 10 lbs" or "get on Honor Roll" doesn't seem as important when faced with the rapidly-approaching destruction of our planet (and that's before I even learned about Superbugs - another thing I have to be terrified about (thanks Rodrigo)). If the world is going to end soon, I'm going to spend my last days on earth avoiding my phone, not falling for propaganda, and getting to know the students of Neuwirth and the things that interest them. Good thing we have another issue of The Neuwirth Times to keep us occupied and entertained. Let's treat each other well and live our best lives with and for one another.
