The Kyrene School District is proud to present the 2026 Digital Poetry Showcase.Â
Each year the district holds a Poetry Contest to recognize the importance of poets and poetry in our schools. At each school site, students were able to submit their poems to the school level contest. One poem per grade level was selected as a school winner and these poems were submitted to the district contest. School winning poems were anonymously scored to determine the district winners - 3 students per grade level.
This year, in lieu of printing a hard copy poetry anthology, all school and district winners are showcased in our Digital Poetry Anthology. Publishing their work digitally allows them to take pride in their role as writers and storytellers and amplifies their voices beyond the classroom. In addition to all school winning poems being published, the district winners were also given the opportunity to create a digital animation and audio recording of their poem. These video recreations are highlighted on the homepage of the website.
