Development across scales
Cell migration, self-organisation, biomechanics
with stochastic agent-based and continuum models
December 4th to 5th, 2023
Kyoto University, Faculty of Medicine Campus
Registration
Registration is free for all participants. Please sign up until Monday, November 27th (extended deadline).
This workshop will delve into the intersection of biology and mathematics, featuring presentations from leading experts in both fields. Topics will encompass interdisciplinary research in developmental biology—including morphogenesis, epithelial-to-mesenchymal transitions, and cell migration—as well as cell and systems biology, with a focus on collective mechanisms of actin-myosin dynamics. From the mathematical side, speakers will present stochastic agent-based models and continuum models for biomechanical modeling.
We warmly invite attendees and speakers alike to engage in our open discussion rounds to share thoughts on challenges and new innovative strategies for thriving multidisciplinary research.
The detailed schedule is available on the Program page.
BiMed-Math Lab: Steffen Plunder, Antoine Diez and Sungrim Seirin-Lee.
The workshop takes place from Monday, the 4th of December to Tuesday, the 5th of December, 2023.
