We also specialize in Geothermal heat pump installation.
In addition to custom residential work, KRD is also very involved with retail and commercial construction projects. This includes, plumbing/heating, electrical, configuring warehouse space, retail/commercial fit-ups, flooring - VCT, LVT, tile, concrete tinting, interior finishes such as drywall, FRP, paint. We also provide and install custom fixtures and slat-wall.
Our area of construction ranges from Southern NH to the Lakes Region. Most of our work is in the Amherst/Bedford/Manchester, NH area.
I started in business for myself in March of 1986. My father, who was involved in another industry for 38 years, had agreed (after much pleading) to go into business together doing remodeling and small additions. My father was not a carpenter by trade, but a great mechanic; the type of man that could achieve just about anything. I was his only son so of course as I grew up I was by his side when undertaking various projects. I grew up in Bedford, NH in a 130-year old farmhouse. There were plenty of projects: Carpentry, plumbing, electrical. You name it and my father and I would fix it.
We started by building porches, decks, and remodeling basements. Eventually, we began building custom homes. The economy was very good in 1986, but soon it went into a slump. We pledged to charge reasonable rates and never gouge our customers no matter what the state of the economy was. This is how we always worked and when times were lean we always had work. Since the start in 1986 I have only missed 3 days of work. That was in-between the first and second job. After 7 of years working together my father lost his battle with cancer. Although it was very difficult I had to carry on alone. I still miss him dearly.
At the time of this writing I have now been in business for over 30 years. In that time I have always done the best I could, constantly learning and improving on my trade. I have always followed my father's high school quote:
"Difficulties strengthen the mind
as labor does the body"
