Some subjects will be taught in English in Ukrainian schools - which ones?

Ukraine continues to reform secondary education. The Ministry of Education and Science plans to introduce bilingual education into the high school curriculum in the near future. This means that specialized subjects in grades 10-12 can be taught in two languages - Ukrainian and English.

This was stated by Oleh Yaresko, Director General of the Directorate of Preschool, School, Out-of-School and Inclusive Education of the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine.

He said that in order for the reform to work, the state must ensure that schoolchildren have an adequate level of English language proficiency.

"First of all, we plan to introduce bilingual education as a compulsory subject in high school. That is, your chosen specialty will be taught in both Ukrainian and English, without fail," said Oleh Yaresko on DOM TV channel.
