Sahar Basil Mahmood

Welcome to my Academic Profile page. My name is Sahar B. Al-Qaisi. I am assistant professor teaching in the Department of Architectural Engineering and the director of the Heritage Conservation Research Program-HCRP, Faculty of Engineering at Koya University, Kurdistan Region, F.R. Iraq. I have B.Sc. degree in Architectural Engineering, M.Sc. degree in Architectural Engineering/Urban Design and a Ph.D. degree in Heritage Conservation. I am a member of the Iraq Engineering Union, a Councillor of the European Architectural History Network (eahn) and a member of the Society of Architectural Historians (SAH).

I am an Associated Editor of ARO-The Scientific Journal of Koya University. I was awarded the Weinberg Fellowship in Architectural History and Preservation for the fall semester of 2018-2019 by the Italian Academy at Columbia University. My research interest is mainly in heritage conservation, Iraqi vernacular architecture, and history of architecture.
