Sustainable Biomanufacturing
The concept of "sustainable biomanufacturing" integrates synthetic biology, metabolic engineering, and bioprocess engineering to convert renewable and waste-derived resources into valuable products.
Examples include engineering microbial cell factories for the production of biofuels, chemicals, and materials from renewable feedstocks, as well as developing biological approaches for plastic degradation and upcycling.
Through these efforts, we aim to advance sustainable and circular production systems that reduce reliance on fossil resources, minimize waste, and promote efficient resource utilization.
