Welcome to the first ever kood/Jõhvi Athletics Day!

We are thrilled to invite all students to participate in our exciting Athletics Day event, scheduled for Tuesday, 22nd August at 12:00 PM. This is an excellent opportunity for students to showcase their athletic talents, team spirit, and sportsmanship.

Teams

Teams should consist of five members each. Don't worry if you can't find a team - register anyway! There are also individual events scheduled. We'll support anyone wishing to join a team, ensuring equal opportunities for participation.

EVENTS

Team Events

5 vs 5 Ultimate Frisbee:

The objective is to score points by passing the frisbee to a teammate and successfully catching it within the opposing team's end zone.
Players are not allowed to run with the frisbee; they can only pivot and pass it.
If the frisbee is dropped, intercepted, or goes out of bounds, possession changes to the opposing team.
The defending team becomes the offense after a turnover.
A point is scored when a player catches the frisbee in the opposing team's end zone.
The game is divided into two halves, each lasting 5 minutes.
The team with the highest score at the end of the game wins.

3 vs 3 basketball:

The game is played on a single half of the court
Both of the teams compete to score on the same basket throughout the entire match.
The teams take turns on offense and defense, with the defending team trying to prevent the other team from scoring.
The team that gains possession on defense becomes the team that attacks on offense.
The possession changes hands after each score, or a turnover.
The team with the most points at the end of the game is declared the winner.

5 vs 5 Soccer/Football:

The objective is to score goals by kicking the ball into the opposing team's net.
Players are not allowed to use their hands or arms (except for the goalkeeper within their own penalty area).
The match is divided into two halves, each lasting 8 minutes.
The team with the highest score at the end of the game wins.

3-Leg Race (pairs):

A lively game where pairs of participants have one leg tied together, creating three legs between them.
They race to the finish line, coordinating movements and communication.
The first team to cross the finish line wins.

5 vs 5 Tug of War:

Teams consist of players.
The objective is to pull the opposing team towards your side, causing them to lose balance and be pulled over a designated line.
Each team holds onto a single rope, evenly spaced, with a marker in the middle.
The team that successfully pulls the opposing team over the line wins.
Teams must remain on their feet and not sit or lie down during the competition.
The game follows the regular rules of Tug of War, including hand positioning and starting commands.

Individual Events

Sack Race

This classic game tests your balance and agility.
Participants hop towards the finish line while inside a sack that reaches their waist.
The game starts with a whistle blow, and racers must remain in their sack while hopping to the finish line.
The participant with the fastest time wins.

Water Balloon Toss

A skillful game where participants toss a water balloon in the air and attempt to catch it on its descent.
The game is measured by airtime - from the moment the balloon leaves the participant's hands to when it is successfully caught.
The higher the toss, the longer the airtime, but remember, the catch must be successful for the attempt to count.
The participant with the longest airtime recorded wins the game.
Be prepared for some wet surprises!

Important Notes

Registration deadline: Friday, 11th of August
Please come dressed in appropriate sports attire and footwear for the events you've registered for.
To ensure the occurrence of all team events, we encourage you to invite your kood/Jõhvi friends to participate, as the number of registered teams will determine the event schedule.
The events timetable will be announced on the days leading up to the 22nd of August.
