Kindergarten: Jenny Anderson
Mrs. Anderson
About Me...
Welcome! This is my twenty-second year teaching at Kasson-Mantorville Elementary. I have been the Title 1 Coordinator/Reading Specialist, a 2nd Grade teacher, and a Kindergarten teacher. This is my tenth year teaching Kindergarten. Overall, I have been teaching for 27 years.
I graduated from the University of North Dakota with a BS in Elementary Education with a Kindergarten endorsement. I went on to obtain my Masters in Education from Winona State University. I later attended St. Mary's University where I received my Reading Specialist License. I also worked as an Adjunct Professor for St. Mary's University teaching the Reading Specialist Courses.
My husband and I have five sons. Our oldest son is Jake, then Brad, Zack, Josh, and Chris. Chris is going into 8th grade and the others are in college or have graduated from college and are working. I love to go fishing, travel, and scrapbook. I have my own business that keeps me busy in the summer. My business is Mrs. A's Snow Dayz, I make Hawaiian Shaved Ice.
For me, teaching goes beyond testing, assignments, and daily work. It is having a relationship with each child in my class! Knowing something personal to them like: their favorite color, activity, interests, or fears. Some kids are afraid of thunderstorms, I need to know that. When we have a storm, I can do things to reassure them that they are safe. I truly love teaching and doing what is best for kids! I am excited for this year and to meet my new students who will become my school "family".
