Austin Meier - Special Education Teacher (Rm S109)
I will be starting my 2nd year at Kasson-Mantorville high school! This will be my 4th year teaching in special education in total. The following blurb explains more about me!
I grew up in Onalaska, Wisconsin (north of La Crosse) and attended
undergrad at University of La Crosse. After spending two years
working in the La Crosse County Shelter Unit, I decided to join the
educational field as a long-term special education paraprofessional. I
remained in this role for four years while returning to school at Viterbo for my special education teaching license. I did my student teaching in La Crosse during the crazy times of the pandemic. I sought further teaching roles outside of the La Crosse community. I moved for the first time away from home to fill a Cross-Categorical Special Education job at Mukwonago High School (30 minutes outside of Milwaukee). I spent two years working with all levels of high schoolers in special education and regular education, especially in Social Studies and Technology / Engineering courses. In all my teaching or supporting positions, I have facilitated in coaching basketball, football, softball, and golf. I enjoy all sports (not a packer fan) and being active outside. I am excited to be moving back to the Wisconsin/Minnesota border to be closer to so many of my friends and family.
