During FRYSC week, February 2021, we are profiling the women and men that remove the barriers to student learning. They are the behind the scenes heroes that provide countless hours of support to our students and their families.
Darya is the FRYSC serving Lynn Camp Schools. In her own words, we asked her about being a FRYSC. Here is what she had to say:
Being a FRYSC is much more than a position or a job, it is a calling that requires a passion for helping others. My passion and my heart is doing anything I can for the students and families at Lynn Camp Schools. From the fun programs to serious situations that leave us broken sometimes, I feel this is my calling and I am so grateful to have the opportunity to serve my students, families, and schools. COVID-19 has definitely changed the way we serve our students, but it has not stopped us at all.
Gina Sears and our FRYSC Coordinators in Knox County work tirelessly to provide for our students and families. I am blessed to play a tiny role among this group of extraordinary people.
I am extremely blessed with a great administration at Lynn Camp Schools who allow me to dream, plan, and execute programs and projects for our students. My staff are the absolute BEST! Together they make it possible for me to do my thing every day.
Most importantly, I love being a FRYSC because I love my babies. From the youngest to the oldest, I do my best to treat them like they are my own. I have the most loving students around and I am so proud to call them mine. I love being a FRYSC because every day, I have the opportunity to make a difference in the life of someone.
Thank you Lynn Camp and Knox County for allowing me to do this!
