Gump Manowang

I'm a 3rd-year PhD student at the Department of Linguistics, University College London. I'm working on sluicing constructions in Thai under the supervision of Klaus Abels. Ad Neeleman is  my subsidiary supervisor. Before that, I did BA in English and Linguistics at Thammasat University, Thailand, and MA in Linguistics at UCL.

I'm a transformational grammarian who is keen to work on any aspect of the Thai language. I attempt to understand how language works in our language faculty.

Broadly speaking, my interests lie in clausal ellipsis (sluicing and fragment) and syntax of wh-questions across languages. I'm also interested in the locality and theory of A'-overt/covert movement, especially focus and Quantifier Raising

Taken at Olpererhütte, Austria (2023)
