Since its founding, the Affiliated Hospitality Senior High School of National Kaohsiung University of Hospitality and Tourism (NKHHS) has been actively developing school-based curricula. In line with Taiwan’s 12-Year Basic Education policy, the school has created an integrated hospitality and tourism curriculum that aims to provide students with practical, interest-driven education tailored to their abilities.
The goal is to build a strong foundation in hospitality from an early stage and gradually expand students’ skills through hands-on learning. This approach not only strengthens their expertise in the field but also boosts their confidence and motivation to learn.
From the first year of junior high, students begin by learning beverage preparation. In the second year, they advance to Chinese culinary skills, and by the third year, they take on more complex Western culinary techniques. This step-by-step progression helps students discover their interests and future goals.
Importantly, learning these skills doesn't mean students are required to pursue a career in hospitality. Rather, the program is designed to equip them with essential life skills, practical knowledge, and a strong sense of service. These values and abilities can be applied to any path they choose in the future.
Our school is a secondary education institution specializing in nurturing talents in the field of hospitality and tourism. It encompasses both the development stage of junior high and the talent enhancement stage of senior high, facilitating a continuous six-year vocational education program in hospitality and tourism. Furthermore, it offers pathways for students to advance to university-level hospitality and tourism education, achieving the goal of a seamless vocational education.
