In the course of study for Texas History classes, students will study historical individuals, events and issues from early exploration to modern times and the impact on our state’s history. Meaningful lessons will be implemented using digital technology and traditional teaching methods. Students will be given opportunities to have a “voice” while participating in class discussions and small group activities. Vocabulary and social studies skills such as learning about cause and effect and reading maps, graphs and charts will be emphasized. Students will have the opportunity to become collaborative learners, skilled problem solvers, self-regulated learners, effective communicators and global citizens as they move forward in their journey of learning.
My favorite thing about Texas History class is the interesting topics we talk about like the Alamo story and I find it very interesting to learn about something that is still here right now like the Alamo and letters from the past.
What I like about Texas History/Social Studies is that we get to learn how Texas is so important to the United States and that if the things that happened the ways they did we would still be a part of Mexico if it didn't.
I love it because the class is always fun and we are always learning something new.
I love how my teacher walks around and talks about the subject in a fun way.
I love this class because I get to read some passages on the books and other stuff like reading Spanish names and saying it in Spanish and get to hold the Eeyore. It's really fun plus that Social Studies is my favorite class
History class is so fun! We all get to toss the class stuffed animal around to see who gets to answer the questions. It's so fun and we're learning at the same time. Ms. Jordy's jokes are so funny and it's so easy to make a friend. If you have Ms. Jordy you are guaranteed for some fun.
I like my teacher... she tells funny stories and teaches things in a way that is easy to understand.
We get to know about where we grow up and live. We get to listen to all these stories and as long as you listen it's pretty easy to past.
