6th Advanced Mathematics is a challenging, fast-paced class. The course curriculum covers all 6th grade concepts and about half of the 7th grade math concepts in one school year. Some mathematical concepts will be introduced at the 6th grade level and expanded and tested at the 7th grade level. (Equations, Percentages)
Chromebooks are used to work on interactive activities regularly, and assignments are posted in Schoology. Students will be expected to use a notebook to take notes and to work out math problems on paper, and on white boards. Students will be expected to justify work by writing about mathematics.
To be successful in and enjoy Advanced Math, students need to complete all assignments, be willing to explore concepts in depth, be bold about asking for help, and be willing to practice, practice, practice.
